Reasons for Hair Loss
Most people consider their hair to be their crowning glory, as it is often the first thing that people will notice about you. Therefore, any changes you make to your hair, whether it is the style, the colour or the length, will be commented upon.
We therefore often go to great lengths and expense to maintain our hair, purchasing a vast array of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. This is why losing your hair can be such a traumatic experience.
There are a number of reasons for hair loss . Perhaps the most common is male pattern baldness, which is a gradual process occurring in many men who are as young as in their early twenties. This usually begins with the thinning of the hair to the crown and for the hair to recede from the forehead. This is quite often a genetic condition, which is also linked to a man having a high testosterone level.
Alopecia is another cause of hair loss in both men and women, and is often caused by stress. This is where small often circular sections of hair fall out, which can then spread, often leaving the sufferer with no hair. There is no proven cure for Alopecia and the condition can often be permanent.
Radiation and Chemotherapy treatments also cause complete hair loss, although this would usually be a temporary condition and the hair would grow back when the treatment is completed.
